2008 marks the 7th year for World Children’s Day™ (WCD) at McDonald’s®, an annual global fundraiser for children.

Funds raised benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) and local children’s causes in communities around the world. Since the program’s inception in 2002, World Children’s Day efforts have raised millions across North Carolina and parts of South Carolina and over $100 million worldwide.

McDonald’s constantly strives to improve on its rich tradition as a good community partner and neighbor. As the needs of the world’s children have increased over time, so has the need for companies and citizens to play a more active role in effecting positive change. With more than 30,000 restaurants worldwide and serving more than 50 million people everyday, McDonald’s is uniquely positioned to help make this happen.
